About Devon Tourist

I am Zoe the owner of Devon Tourist, I started this site in the late summer of 2020 as a means to document this wonderful county. I moved here in 2002 and have always felt privileged to live in such a beautiful part of the world. If feel extremely fortunate and in the last few years have come to appreciate travel within the UK in a new light.

The options I try to present are for all budgets and considerations. I am particularly conscious that travel can be expensive and not everyone has access to a holiday. For those that can, I encourage you to support Farms For City Children a local Devon based charity founded by the Author Michael Morpurgo and his wife, its aim is to bring children from urban environments to experience life on a farm in order for them to experience a different way of life and learn from the environment.

During the peak of the pandemic in 2020, I ventured out into my local community and began to appreciate even more my surroundings in a new light. This was not uncommon as many of us have also discovered new areas of our country and towns which were seemingly under our noses, be it a park, nearby walk or attraction.

I decided to document film and photograph this journey as a means to share and encourage others to visit Devon.

I do visit these places regularly, but if you spot something that has changed since my visit or wish to comment with suggestions etc. please get in touch.
